The World Day of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine is an annual global initiative promoting equitable access to safe, effective regional anaesthesia and pain management.

Led by the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA) in collaboration with regional anaesthesia and pain societies around the world, the initiative brings clinicians together to share knowledge, promote education and improve access to regional anaesthesia and pain medicine.

World Day 2026

The third World Day of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine took place on 31 January 2026, bringing together the global community through events in more than 150 cities across all continents.

The 2026 theme was “Equity, Access, Relief – through Regional Anaesthesia.”

The initiative highlights the role of regional anaesthesia and pain medicine across a wide range of clinical settings, while encouraging collaboration, practical education and the sharing of best practice between clinicians worldwide.
